Vienna

I just had to share these shots from Jeremy's Slovakia/Austria trip in August. He FINALLY got them put on shutterfly so we could all see them. I guess he finally had a slow day at the office!
Anyway, I am amazed at some of these pictures that he took. He isn't known as the family's photographer, so I am proud of him for taking some of these! These are all of Vienna, Austria. He worked most of the time in Slovakia, but got to have a fun day in Vienna. Austria is close to my heart since that is where my parental grandmother's family is from. I grew up hearing her talk about how beautiful Austria is. I definitely believe her! I definitely wish I could have been on this trip with Jeremy, but I guess someday maybe my time will come to travel the globe!

I love how OLD everything is!!!!

Hawkeyes vs. Gophers 11/22/08

All I have to say is Iowa 55, Minnesota 0!
We had a GREAT time in the cities a few weekends ago watching the Hawks beat the pants off of the Gophers at their last game at the Dome. This was Kaden's first Hawkeye football game and he is definitely hooked! It was so fun (especially since our team scored so much!). We had to explain to him that most football games are not usually like this!
We headed downtown early and was just shocked at how much black and gold was overwhelming the city. We definitely out-numbered Gopher fans!

Thanksgiving '08

I love that they all took turns petting a DEAD pheasant!

Huddy got a four-wheeler ride with Grandpa!

We were one of those lucky families that got to travel this year for Thanksgiving. It was so nice to not have to worry about paying over $3.00 in gas this year! The boys were really good this time. Everytime we go back or even travel anywhere I notice how they do better and better with age. (Duh!) And then I think to myself, "what have we done???" We are going to have another baby and start all over again!
I thought I would just post a few pics from our long weekend in Iowa. The highlight of the trip was that Kaden got to go pheasant hunting with my dad and brother. He really didn't get to "hunt", it was more him walking along side Grandpa and the dogs. He saw his uncle Zack get a pheasant and he said, "it was SO awesome!". I was a little nervous of what he was going to think of it considering the night before he was laying next to me in bed and said, "Mom, do I have to shoot an animal tomorrow when I go hunting?" Well...that is kind of the idea of hunting! He did awesome and some good memories were made. I grew up with hunting. My dad lives and breathes the sport. My grandfather owned a sporting goods shop and also was a die-hard hunter. I know my dad wants to keep the tradition going especially since he knows that WE aren't going to be taking them out hunting!

Kaden's 7th birthday

We decided to try out the new House of Bounce for Kaden's b'day party. I was a little nervous since they had opened up only one week before his party. They definitely need to get some of the kinks ironed out, but overall, it was fun. Most of the things that were annoying to parents didn't really make a difference to the kids. What mattered is that no one got hurt, sick, etc. and everyone had fun!

Hudsen thought it was his birthday, too. He kept calling it "our birthday party!"

Side note: Thanks again to Monica for being my professional photographer that day! It was so great to not have to worry about getting great shots! I wish I could have posted all 140 pictures you took that day!
