My birthday

So, I turned 32. Wowsers! My crew made my day so great. Kaden had his 3rd day of school...he didn't want to go. He thought he was going to miss out on all the fun. HA! I don't think he realized that mom's birthday isn't quite like his. It's pretty much just another day at the Horner house. Still laundry to do, diapers to change, meals to make, etc. etc. etc.! However, this year Jeremy took the day off and spent the day at home with me. I don't know if he fully understands how that, alone, can be the best present! Just having another pair of hands in the house is golden. He felt SO bad that he didn't get me some lavish gift. I told him I just wanted a break from my usual routines. I didn't want to fix breakfast, give the morning bottle, change diapers, wash bottles, do laundry, EMPTY the dishwasher (ick), and all those glorious things.
DISCLOSURE: I do love all these things (except emptying the dishwasher) and do not want to sound like I am complaining. I LOVE my life as mommy and wife and wouldn't trade being home with these three precious little ones for anything, BUT a girl needs a day-off once in awhile! :)
Digging in to my Daube's carrot cake. I wait for this EVERY year. I love this cake so much and anticipate this part of my birthday so much in fact, I ordered this cake for Jeremy's birthday last November. He will never forgive me for ordering MY favorite cake for HIS birthday. ;)Mmmmm.....
I love these little people with all of my heart. I am SO blessed to have them in my life!
Jeremy took the boys shopping for me. This is the shirt the boys picked out for me. They thought for sure it looked like something I would like...I think I'll wear it on Cinco de Mayo!!!! They were so excited to give me all of my presents.
Jeremy took a video of Kaden shopping for me. This video might be my favorite gift.

My favorite girl

One of my cards. The boys also made me one, it was ginormous.

Sweet boys, relaxing on the couch with me. A great end to a perfect day.

You guessed it...blogging again. Wow.

First days of schoolWhy do they have to grow up so fast?

My big man. 2nd grade. 7 years old. Sept. 8, 2009. Jefferson Elementary. Mrs. Sharon Erickson.
Hudsen was SO excited for Kaden to come home from school. He asked me "where is Kaden" all day. He missed him a lot.
Kaden gets off the bus on the top of the hill and always runs down to our house. Always smiling...
Happy to see each other after a long 1st day. (pic isn't so great, but I don't care, this hug is priceless)
All ready for another year of preschool at Bethany! Hudsen started the day after Kaden.

Lining up with Mrs. Ketch to go home.

Yes, I'm blogging

Really. I am...
Here's what has been going on at our house. I will start in August....
Adalyn Mae's 1st rice cereal (5 months)
Jeremy surprised Kaden with a new bike. Kaden was, obviously, very excited. His dad and I had a lot of "heated discussions" (nice term for fights?!) about whether or not he needed a new bike.
I lost...

Grandma and Adalyn at the lake
Not quite ready to give up the Bumbo yet. Her hair looks blonde in the light. I think she'll end up having the same color as Hudsen's, when she finally gets some.
She did this funny thing where it would look like she is doing crunches. She got to the point she didn't like to lay on her back. Check out those rolls... :)
She loves her saucer
What can I say? I had two bored boys that really needed an activity!

Drool...always lots of drool

I am truly in awe of the love that Hudsen has for his baby sis. He has not once shown any negative feelings towards her. He has nothing but love for her day in and day out. A lot of people tell me, "you just wait" but so far, so good. I think she loves him just as much. She knows he is the one that pays a lot of attention to her. I love their relationship already!
Mom's bestest friend, Diane and grandson James...he is SOOOO cute!
Waiting for their sunset cruise. Sure wish I could have heard their conversation. They were sitting together so cute waiting for their boat ride.
The captain of our ship
The sun sets on Spirit LakeCheck out that beast of a fish! (He caught a ton of these little fish...or was it the same fish over and over again?...all weekend)
I love that my mom takes hooks out of Kaden's catches. Maybe it was all those years growing up close to the river?
This is the way it is...Kaden tubing and Huddy watching. Maybe next summer will be the year we finally get Huddy Lee on the tube!?!
My bald beauty at 6 months.
Huddy and his new "Bikings" hat. Jeremy took the boys shopping one afternoon for soccer equipment for Kaden and Hudsen saw this hat and absolutely wouldn't take no for an answer. He didn't throw a fit, just told his dad he had to have it. He does EVERYTHING in it. Sleeps, eats, etc. in it. It is hard to get it off his head to take a bath.
Goodbye Summer of 2009...it's been real.

July

The month of July in review.
Swimming lessons. Kaden got to advance to the lap pool this year. He did SO awesome in his lessons! He moved up 3 levels!
Now Hudsen on the other hand...that was a challenge! He loves the pool and water but not the swimming lessons! He participated in 5 out of 8 of them. He sat out and pouted for a few. Looking back, I should have waited another year to put him in lessons. Lesson learned! This picture is of Hudsen and his little friend Avery. They had fun one day after lessons just playing on the steps.
We picked a REALLY hot day (one of the few hot days this summer!) to pick berries. It was a lot of fun! Notice Hudsen picked a long-sleeved, black shirt to go picking in. There was NO way I could change his mind about it. "Like reasoning with a drunk monkey!"
Hudsen picking raspberries. He really got the hang of it this year!
Adalyn in her berry shirt! She was so good, we put her in her stroller in some shade close to us and she was so happy!
Kaden got the jackpot! Yum!
While we were picking berries, the kids' aunt Jessica was busy having this sweet little baby, Ellery Jane. She is such a sweetie! She has a ton of super soft blonde hair! She was 8 lbs. 1 oz.Here is Ellery and Adalyn side by side. It was amazing to see how big Addie was next to Ellery! Ellery was half the size!

Addie is ALWAYS smiling! Oh the fun these two girls are going to have someday!

Griffin being himself...he is such a funny little boy! Love him!
Hudsen Lee being cute!

Horner boys. They have lots of fun together! Someday they will be BIG trouble!

Our little princess, drool and all!
The last All-Comers track meet of the summer. Hudsen & Daddy running
His ribbon (upside down)
Kaden is in the gray shirt
Our little neighbor friend Simon has been coming over and playing with the boys a lot. His mommy Kristie just had her 5th baby. So, needless to say, Simon needs boys to play with!
We headed to the lake for Hudsen's b'day. The night we got there it was SO nice out. Just beautiful!
I have a thing for Adirondack chairs!
Huddy's 4th b'day! It was all about Spongebob this year!
Huddy had to close his eyes and wait for his surprise!
A new bike!

CrAsHeD!!!

My mom kept the boys for a few days after Hudsen's b'day. It was just Addie and I for a few days...kind of nice and quiet! Missed those little stinkers though! Grandma took the boys to a play, mini-golfing, mining for "gold", and looked a big bug sculptures. They had LOTS of fun! Addie and I met them in Mankato at the mall. It was fun to be back there. I hadn't been there since I graduated from college there 9 years ago! Funny how some things change, but also how things stay exactly the same! :)
The mall in Mankato has a really neat carousel. Hudsen & I went on it. Kaden was way too cool to go on it. Too bad he thinks that he is too old for the carousel.
I love this picture!
Kaden got to go to "Take your child to work" day again this year. Hudsen isn't old enough, maybe next year. Kaden had a TON of fun watching what Jeremy does day in and day out. Love that Hudsen is going crazy in this pic. (See why he isn't ready to go to work yet!?!?)
Cute pic with the blue zoo behind them.
We had some friends over for homemade pizza and a bonfire. It was a perfect summer night with great friends! Kaden and Matthew had fun climbing the "climbing tree" in the back.

Touchdown!
So, there it is! A fun (and really fast!) July!
